PUBLIC SAFETY & SECURITY OFFICERS UC HASTINGS COLLEGE OF THE LAW PUBLIC SAFETY & SECURITY DEPARTMENT REGULAR FULL-TIME POSITIONS HIRING SALARY; $48,576 Step Compensation Salary Range : $48,576-$59,088 (Shift differential for swing and graveyard shifts) As the University of California s first law school, UC Hastings College of the Law boasts a rich history of achievement in the field of legal education. Established in 1878 and located in San Francisco s Civic Center district, our vibrant institution is seeking qualified Safety & Security Officers for a variety of shifts. In this position, you will maintain order, enforce laws, ordinances, rules and regulations and protect students, staff, faculty, visitors and campus property and facilities against accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Typical duties and responsibilities include patrolling designated College property on foot, responding to calls for service and assistance, assuming fixed post assignments and monitoring and controlling access to buildings and restricted areas. You will be expected to inspect buildings for security, fire and potential accident and/or hazards and take preventive or corrective action as appropriate, open and close College facilities, monitor alarm systems and respond when necessary, provide escort services by foot and/or vehicle, provide security for large gatherings and College activities, control crowds during assemblies and disturbances, and, if necessary, makes citizens arrests, administer first aid and CPR, perform dispatch duties, prepare reports, enforce automobile parking regulations and may be assigned the responsibility of issuing citations for violations of the CA Vehicle Code. The Safety and Security Officer carries a baton, mace/pepper spray and handcuffs carrying a firearm is prohibited. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Related work experience, preferably in an institutional or campus environment MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: HS diploma or equivalent, supplemented by the completion of valid and current POST approved Basic Course Training, Levels III, II and I or the completion of POST approved Basic Police Academy (within last 3 years). Completion of first aid, CPR, baton and tear gas training The ability to pass a medical exam Knowledge of local laws and ordinances, including penal, health and safety and fire codes Clean DMV record To be considered for employment, copies of certificates are required to be submitted with application APPLICANT TESTING: Applicants evaluated as meeting the position requirements will be scheduled for required testing. Failure to pass any component of the required testing will eliminate candidates from further testing and consideration of employment. Dental Plans - Two dental plans are available for employees and eligible dependents. Vision Care - The College paid plan is available for employees and eligible dependents. Life Insurance - The College provides an employer paid term life insurance policy and optional employee paid policies. Accidental Death & Dismemberment - Up to $500,000 in coverage may be purchased by employees. Disability The College provides basic coverage for non-work related Disability. Employees may purchase additional short and long term disability insurance to supplement this benefit. Legal Insurance Employees may purchase this insurance which provides covered legal services on a pre-paid basis. Vacation Full-time employees initially accrue a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year. Part-time employees accrue on a proportionate basis. Vacation earning rates increase in accord with employment longevity. Sick Leave Full-time employees accrue 8 hours per qualifying month of service. Part-time employees accrue on a proportionate basis. Holidays College employees receive 12 paid holidays per year and 1 personal holiday. Specifically, you will: - Develop loans, depository accounts and other fee generating services. - Support business development goals through effective calling on existing and potential customers to identify business and personal needs of companies (including both executives and employees). - Work closely with Wealth Management, Treasury, Cash Management, International Trade and other major areas of the Bank to promote the sales and implementation of complex financial products and services. Provide assistance to customers with Foreign Exchange transactions by contacting the Treasury Department. Act as liaison between customers and Treasury Department for the purchase of Euros or other investment products. - Originate consumer, small business (including SBA and Express Letters of Credit) and residential real estate loans by interviewing applicants and determining borrowing needs. Negotiate types of loans, terms and conditions within established guidelines. Ensure all loan documentation is accurately completed. Assist customers in signing loan documents and makes proper disclosures. May disburse loan proceeds. - Obtain and analyze all necessary financial data and supporting documents on borrowers. Make recommendations to underwriters/credit administration or any other appropriate lending authority. - Develop and manage a portfolio of major customer relationships (retail and commercial) by providing consultative advice, products and services to meet customer needs. Responsible for increasing the number of major relationships and total profitability of assigned portfolio. - Establishe an effective calling program to interact with customers and prospects that reside in Pacific Rim countries to develop new business. - Ensure development and preparation of effective proposals for presentation to existing and potential customers. Has primary responsibility for marketing presentations to professionals or company decision-makers. - Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the Bank within the designated marketplace.
